Bitcoin (BTC) was less volatile over the past year than Coinbase and Sandisk shares but more volatile than Amazon and JPMorgan shares, placing its 43% realized annualized reading between the four stocks.

Coinbase shares had about 70% volatility, while Sandisk shares registered about 110%. Amazon was at about 31% and JPMorgan at about 20%, both below Bitcoin. These are comparisons with individual stocks, not with the S&P 500 index as a whole.

Bitcoin's one-year volatility reading was below its 10-year average of 64% and its 81% reading five years earlier. Realized volatility describes past price movements. It does not show whether Bitcoin gained or lost value during the period or predict its future swings.
