Cardano DeFi Holdings Equal 0.76% of ADA’s $8.094 Billion Market Cap
The Oct. 20 snapshot also showed $70.1 million in Cardano stablecoins, alongside separate 24-hour trading and fee measures.

Cardano’s tracked decentralized finance protocols held $61.34 million in assets at 7:25 a.m. ET (11:25 UTC) Oct. 20, a sum equal to 0.76% of ADA’s $8.094 billion market capitalization.
The percentage compares two different totals. Total value locked (TVL) adds the dollar value of assets held by tracked protocols, while market capitalization reflects ADA’s price and circulating supply. It compares protocol balances with the market value of the circulating token supply; it does not count how many ADA holders use DeFi.
Asset prices can change the dollar value of TVL even when there are no deposits or withdrawals. The 0.76% reading is a point-in-time comparison, not a standalone measure of growth or overall network activity. A single reading also cannot establish a longer trend.
Delegating ADA to a stake pool does not by itself make those tokens a DeFi protocol deposit. Cardano holders can still spend delegated ADA, so the ratio does not include all ADA delegated to stake pools.
Cardano’s stablecoin market capitalization was $70.1 million. Separate rolling 24-hour measures showed $1.4 million in decentralized exchange trading, $17,654 in application fees and $2,007 in network fees. Those balances, trading and fee totals describe different aspects of activity; they do not show how much transaction capacity is being used.
A prior Oct. 16 Cardano snapshot put DeFi holdings at $64.46 million. The two readings provide points four days apart but do not, by themselves, establish a longer-term direction.
Cardano’s Leios public testnet began June 23, 2026. The late-2026 target applies to the first phase of the Dijkstra hard fork, which includes Linear Leios, and remains subject to on-chain governance. Leios activates only after enough stake pools register the required keys; capacity then increases in steps. DeFi deposits, trading and fees can help track application activity after the upgrade.
