Oracle is set to pay $0.50 per common share Friday, Oct. 23, giving investors of record with 100 shares on Oct. 9 a $50 payment before taxes.

Oracle declared the dividend in September. Eligibility was fixed at the close of business Oct. 9, so a purchase made now will not qualify for this payment. The $50 figure is the declared rate multiplied by 100 common shares.

The distribution comes during a period of heavy infrastructure spending. In its fiscal first quarter, which ended Aug. 31, Oracle recorded $19.345 billion in revenue, including $11.607 billion from cloud services. Capital expenditures reached $28.499 billion, while operating cash flow was $23.103 billion. Free cash flow was negative $5.396 billion.

Four quarterly payments at the current rate would add up to $2 per share, or $200 for 100 shares over a year. That calculation does not establish what Oracle will pay in future quarters: its board will decide whether to declare further dividends and set their payment dates. The declared $0.50 payment is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23.
