Tesla Shares Rise 3.8% to $368.06 Ahead of Third-Quarter Earnings
Tesla’s analyst compilation projects negative $4.506 billion in free cash flow. Seven estimates average a $288 million after-tax unrealized gain on digital assets.

Tesla (TSLA) shares rose 3.8% to $368.06 Monday ahead of third-quarter earnings, with analyst estimates pointing to negative free cash flow and a possible gain tied to digital assets.
The stock gained $13.34 from its Oct. 16 close of $354.72. Monday’s closing price was recorded at 4 p.m. ET (20:00 UTC), two days before Tesla is scheduled to release its results. The gain was 3.76% before rounding.
Tesla’s Oct. 19 compilation of analyst estimates puts third-quarter revenue at $28.341 billion and non-GAAP earnings at $0.45 per share. Each average draws on 23 estimates. Free cash flow, based on 20 estimates, is projected at negative $4.506 billion. Those figures are forecasts, not reported results.
Tesla included a disclaimer with the estimates: “Tesla does not endorse any information, recommendations or conclusions made by the analysts.”
Vehicle deliveries offer one comparison for the upcoming results. Tesla delivered 486,532 vehicles in the quarter ended Sept. 30, exceeding its pre-release analyst average of 461,974 by 24,558 vehicles, or 5.3%. That average drew on 24 estimates.
Despite beating the forecast, deliveries were 2.1% below the 497,099 vehicles delivered in the third quarter of 2025. Tesla produced 464,391 vehicles in the latest quarter and deployed 13.7 gigawatt-hours of energy storage. Its earnings and cash flow for the period have yet to be released.
Digital assets are another item in the earnings outlook. Seven estimates in Tesla’s compilation averaged a projected $288 million after-tax unrealized gain on digital assets. That forecast does not establish the company’s actual gain for the quarter.
As of June 30, Tesla held 11,509 Bitcoin (BTC), while all its digital assets had a fair value of $674 million. Those holdings and that valuation predate the quarter ended Sept. 30; neither is a third-quarter closing figure.
Tesla previously set the earnings date alongside its third-quarter delivery figures. The Oct. 19 share close and newly compiled financial estimates add to the operating figures already disclosed.
Tesla is due to release its results after the U.S. market closes Wednesday, Oct. 21. Its earnings webcast is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET (21:30 UTC).
