Dow Gains 0.39% as Nasdaq Falls 1.04% in Oct. 20 Intraday Trade

U.S. stocks traded in mixed territory Oct. 20, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 0.39% and the Nasdaq Composite down 1.04%, leaving the three major indexes split.

The S&P 500 fell 0.28% in the same intraday snapshot. The Dow was the only one of the three indexes to rise, while the Nasdaq posted the steepest decline.

The Nasdaq's drop was 0.76 percentage point larger than the S&P 500's decline. The figures describe intraday moves, not closing results.
