South Korea’s KOSPI rose 3% to 5,721.34 in a market update timestamped 8:18 p.m. ET Tuesday (00:18 UTC Wednesday), while two individual stocks recorded larger gains.

SK hynix rose 6%, and Samsung Electronics gained 4.6%. Both percentage moves were larger than the index’s 3% rise: SK hynix outpaced it by 3 percentage points, while Samsung exceeded it by 1.6 points. SK hynix’s gain was 1.4 points above Samsung’s.

The index’s 5,721.34 level and 3% change describe the benchmark move, while the company figures offer separate stock-level readings. All three changes were positive, and both stock gains were above the KOSPI’s increase. SK hynix’s advance was twice the index’s percentage gain.

In percentage terms, the moves rank SK hynix first at 6%, Samsung Electronics second at 4.6%, and the KOSPI at 3%. This is a notable move in Asian equities, with the South Korean index higher alongside gains in the two named stocks.
