Hyperliquid (HYPE) climbed above $80 early Oct. 21, rising 3.7% in 24 hours but remaining about 17% below its September record and below its Oct. 6 close.

At 7:18 a.m. ET (11:18 UTC) Oct. 21, HYPE traded at $81.383. It closed at $91.91 on Oct. 6, $77.98 on Oct. 17 and $80.35 on Oct. 20; those closing prices use UTC trading days. Its $97.96 all-time high came Sept. 23.

Futures open interest exceeded $3 billion in the morning snapshot. Open interest counts outstanding futures positions, but the figure alone does not show whether traders expect prices to rise or fall.

On Aug. 19, President Donald Trump said he understood that CFTC Chair Michael S. Selig was working to bring Hyperliquid into the United States legally. HYPE rose 40.5% over the four days after Trump’s remark and reached its record the following month.
