The Korea Exchange activated a buy-side sidecar after KOSPI 200 futures rose 5%, placing a temporary limit on program buying in South Korean stocks.

KOSPI program buy orders were paused for five minutes.

The measure applied to programmed buy orders on the KOSPI, South Korea’s main stock market.

It did not halt trading across the entire stock market.
