South Korea’s KOSPI Crosses 5,800 During 4.7% Intraday Rise
The index closed 3.29% higher after giving back part of its intraday gain. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix each rose more than 5%.

South Korea’s KOSPI climbed 4.7% and crossed 5,800 during Wednesday’s session, extending a sharp rise in the country’s equity market before the index gave back part of its gain.
The index finished the day 3.29% higher. That closing gain was 1.41 percentage points below the 4.7% intraday reading. The move through 5,800 was a point reached during trading, while the smaller percentage gain describes where the session ended.
Samsung Electronics gained 5.67%, while SK Hynix rose 5.8% by the close. Both stocks outpaced the KOSPI’s final percentage gain.
The readings capture different stages of the same trading day: a climb through 5,800 followed by a narrower gain at the close. The KOSPI measures South Korean stocks, so its rise describes an equity market move rather than a change in cryptocurrency prices.
