Remittance-sized stablecoin and Bitcoin transfers from Canada to India, China and the Philippines totaled $2.36 billion, up 141% year over year.

Canada’s measured crypto activity rose 2.3% to $247.7 billion through June 2026, while U.S. activity slipped 2.2%, as remittance-sized transfers to three Asian countries surged.
Transfers of stablecoins and Bitcoin (BTC) from Canada to India, China and the Philippines totaled $2.36 billion from July 2025 through June 2026, up 141% from the prior year. The total covers remittance-sized transfers on those routes and includes both assets. It spans 3.56 million transactions averaging $663 each, with about 75,100 distinct senders per month.
The destinations’ share of outbound Canadian stablecoin value rose to 19.4% from 10.9% a year earlier. That share measures stablecoin value, while the $2.36 billion transfer total includes Bitcoin as well.
Stablecoins made up 44% of Canadian-dollar-based crypto order-book volume in June 2026, compared with 30% in June 2025. U.S. dollar-backed tokens led that activity, while Canadian-dollar-backed stablecoins represented little volume.
Canada’s Stablecoin Act received Royal Assent on March 26, 2026, but is not yet in force. Implementing regulations are in development.
