The price was above the seven-day simple moving average at $718.02. It was below the 12-period exponential moving average at $727.07, the 50-day simple moving average at $730.98, the 26-period exponential moving average at $732.23 and the 20-day simple moving average at $738.85.
A separate one-hour derivatives reading at 5 a.m. ET (09:00 UTC) on Wednesday, Oct. 21, showed 3,168 contracts in taker sell volume and 2,180 in taker buy volume. Sell contracts made up about 59% of the combined total, or roughly 1.45 for every buy contract.
Binance account-positioning figures at that time showed 68.3% of global accounts long and 31.7% short. Among top-trader accounts, 65.7% were long and 34.3% short. Those ratios describe account positions; they measure something different from the one-hour volume of trades initiated by buyers and sellers.
