A fictional DacityCoin label in the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer has put a separate Solana token in traders’ focus as they debate whether the coin could have a role in the game.

Rockstar Games’ Oct. 15 trailer shows the name on an AudaCity-branded stunt plane. The footage does not show anyone buying, selling or spending the coin. The label matches the name of a separate Solana token, Dacity Coin (DACITY), but no official link between the token and Rockstar or the game has been established.

The token’s market capitalization rose from $104,000 to $3.18 million within an hour of the trailer’s release.

Traders have floated possible roles for the fictional coin. Lucia, one of the game’s characters, could promote it during a mission, while another theory is that players might use or trade it in-game. Neither feature is confirmed by the trailer.

Pseudonymous meme-coin trader Nicstho called the mission-promotion idea “the classic thesis.” Corey Ape speculated, “I guess you’ll be able to trade it like you trade stocks on GTA V.”

Grand Theft Auto V had two stock markets, LCN and BAWSAQ, available through its in-game internet. That precedent does not confirm a similar feature in Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar has scheduled the game’s release for Nov. 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
