The YieldMax COIN Option Income Strategy ETF (CONY) declared a weekly distribution of $0.1931 per share. Oct. 22 is both the ex-dividend and record date. The payout is below the ETF’s previous $0.2222-per-share distribution, which was scheduled for Oct. 9.

The fund’s 30-day SEC yield was 2.52% for the period ended Sept. 30. It measures net investment income and excludes option income, so it describes a different measure from the weekly amount declared per share. The distribution amount is not the fund’s total return, and distributions can vary.

An estimated 9.41% of the latest distribution is return of capital, while 90.59% is income. Those percentages are estimates rather than a final tax determination; the final tax characterization will appear on Form 1099-DIV. Return of capital means part of an investor’s original principal is being returned rather than paid as income or profit.

CONY uses options tied to Coinbase (COIN) shares to pursue income and gain indirect exposure without investing directly in the stock. The strategy can limit the fund’s participation in gains if COIN rises, while leaving it exposed to losses if the stock declines. Payment is scheduled for Oct. 23.
