Ripple Prime has opened round-the-clock derivatives trading tied to real-world assets for institutional clients, with contracts spanning more than 100 markets and Ripple USD (RLUSD) available as collateral.

Supported references include equities, equity indexes, exchange-traded funds, metals, energy and foreign exchange. The contracts track perpetual futures listed by Trade.xyz on Hyperliquid. Ripple Prime trades as principal, and clients can cross-margin exposures across positions.

Virtu was among the institutions already trading when Ripple Prime announced the service Thursday, Oct. 15. Trading and settlement are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Ripple made the offering available under its CIV BVI license and plans to expand into other regions. The product provides swap exposure linked to perpetual futures, rather than direct around-the-clock trading in the underlying shares; 24/7 access and settlement apply to the swaps themselves. The launch broadens Ripple Prime’s institutional trading services.
