The YieldMax MRNA Option Income Strategy ETF (MRNY) set a $0.8851-per-share distribution for Oct. 23, about 9.1% above its previous weekly payment, with Oct. 22 as both the record and ex-dividend date.
MRNY's new distribution is higher than the $0.8112 per share paid Oct. 16. The fund's earlier $0.7462 payment is covered in a previous MRNY distribution update.
The record date determines which shareholders qualify for the distribution. The payment is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23.
MRNY lists a 100.19% distribution rate and a 0.68% 30-day SEC yield. The rate projects the latest distribution over a year and compares it with the fund's latest net asset value (NAV); it is not a measure of total return. The SEC yield excludes option income, and future distributions are not guaranteed.
The fund sells call spreads on Moderna Inc. (MRNA) to seek option premiums and weekly income. It estimates that 69.81% of the latest distribution represents return of capital and 30.19% represents income.
