The S&P 500’s rebound is approaching a dense stretch of scheduled market events, beginning with France’s credit-rating review Friday and extending through the Federal Reserve meeting and major technology earnings.

The index rose 0.6% Wednesday, Oct. 21, leaving it 0.8% below its record. Moody’s is scheduled to review France’s Aa3 rating on Oct. 23. The rating has a negative outlook, but a scheduled review does not by itself mean the rating will change.

The Federal Reserve meets Oct. 27-28. Its statement is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET (18:00 UTC) on Oct. 28, followed by a news conference at 2:30 p.m. ET (18:30 UTC). The calendar does not specify what decision the Fed will make.

Earnings dates add another focus for markets. Alphabet’s results call is scheduled for Oct. 28 at 4:30 p.m. ET (20:30 UTC), and Microsoft plans to release results after the market closes that day. Amazon’s call is set for Oct. 29 at 5 p.m. ET (21:00 UTC). Apple’s call is scheduled for Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. ET (22:00 UTC), followed by AMD’s on Nov. 3 at 5 p.m. ET (22:00 UTC).

The events span eight trading sessions from Oct. 23 through Nov. 3. The next scheduled event is the France rating review on Friday.
