[Staking rankings] Market caps mostly rise as Tron falls 2.96%

Staking market capitalizations mostly rose over the week, while Tron fell 2.96%, the largest decline among the assets tracked. Avalanche led gains with a 9.51% increase, although its annual total return remained negative.

Ethereum and Solana recorded weekly increases, while Hyperliquid, Cardano and Bittensor joined Tron in declining. Avalanche's gains contrasted with its weaker performance over the past year.

The October 22 snapshot ranked Ethereum first by staking market capitalization at $105.37 billion, up 1.53% over the week.

Solana ranked second at $45.87 billion, up 2.26%. Hyperliquid placed third at $34.73 billion, down 0.30%.

BNB Chain ranked fourth at $17.71 billion, up 1.85%. Tron followed at $14.09 billion, down 2.96%.

Avalanche posted the largest weekly increase at 9.51%, followed by NEAR Protocol at 7.24%. Tron recorded the steepest decline at 2.96%.

Sui had the highest staking ratio at 70.77%, followed by Solana at 68.98% and Bittensor at 63.94%. Cardano's ratio stood at 56.69%, Hyperliquid's at 46.51% and Avalanche's at 45.48%.

Solana had the most staking wallets at 1,340,093, followed by Cardano with 1,251,843 and Ethereum with 804,706.

Avalanche's staking wallet count fell 10.46% over the week. Ethereum's declined 1.94%, while changes across the other assets with available wallet data were below 1%.

BNB Chain had the highest real reward rate at 5.60%. Tron recorded 2.73%, Avalanche 2.71%, NEAR Protocol 2.46%, Ethereum 1.68% and Solana 1.28%. Sui and Bittensor had negative rates of -1.01% and -5.01%, respectively.

Ethereum led estimated annual rewards at $2.72 billion, followed by Solana at $2.34 billion. Hyperliquid recorded $771.76 million, Tron $472.34 million and NEAR Protocol $146.26 million.

Estimated annual rewards rose 8.50% for Bittensor, 8.00% for Avalanche and 6.67% for NEAR Protocol over the week. BNB Chain's estimate fell 20.38%.

Bittensor had the highest annual staking ROI at 14.32%. Avalanche followed at 6.79%, Solana at 5.87%, NEAR Protocol at 4.99%, Tron at 3.25%, Ethereum at 2.79%, BNB Chain at 2.52%, Hyperliquid at 2.25%, Cardano at 2.24% and Sui at 1.65%.

For 365-day total ROI, which combines price changes and staking rewards, NEAR Protocol led at 137.06%. Hyperliquid followed at 123.39%, while Tron also posted a positive return of 6.93%.

Cardano returned -65.07%, Sui -58.65%, Avalanche -49.58%, Solana -40.31%, Ethereum -35.49%, BNB Chain -29.75% and Bittensor -23.79%. For most assets tracked, staking rewards were insufficient to offset price losses over the year.
