China’s ChiNext index fell 4% on Oct. 22 as more than 4,800 stocks declined across the market, a broad equity pullback relevant to U.S. crypto traders tracking risk sentiment.

The Shenzhen Component dropped 2.9%, while the Shanghai Composite lost 1.5%. ChiNext had the steepest decline among the three indexes, followed by the Shenzhen benchmark and then the Shanghai gauge. The Shenzhen Component’s decline fell between the other two index moves, with all three benchmarks lower in the Oct. 22 snapshot.

More than 4,800 individual stocks were lower across the market, extending the declines beyond any one index. That breadth is a central part of the day’s picture: the losses involved thousands of shares as well as all three reported benchmarks.

The figures give crypto traders in the United States a cross-market snapshot of weakness in Chinese equities. The reported declines ranged from 1.5% in the Shanghai Composite to 4% in ChiNext, while the marketwide tally topped 4,800 declining stocks.
