A crypto wallet that closed all 36,000 XMR in its long position on Oct. 20 for $3.441 million in profit missed an estimated $4.77 million in gains as Monero rallied two days later.

The address, 0x615a…69d5, had held an XMR long position since Aug. 9. The wallet closed the 36,000 XMR position at $513, with an average holding price of $383.23.

By Aug. 31, the address had already closed half its position and realized $1.637 million. It then held 16,000 XMR in a long position with 4x leverage.

Monero rose 12% on Oct. 22, reaching a three-month high. The advance left an estimated $4.77 million in potential gains unrealized after the wallet’s exit.

Separately, XMR-denominated futures open interest expanded about 22% in the five days ending Oct. 20, while the token’s price gained about 9%. Open interest reflects the amount of futures exposure still outstanding in XMR, but it does not reveal the market’s net directional positioning. A separate review of Monero futures exposure covered that increase.
