Hong Kong Tech Stocks Slide as Hang Seng Tech Index Drops 5.03%
Zhipu fell 7.86% and MiniMax lost 6.52%, while the broader Hang Seng Index dropped 3.03%.

Technology shares led a steep decline in Hong Kong on Thursday, with the Hang Seng Tech Index losing 5.03% at the close as the broader Hang Seng Index fell 3.03%, a gap that put the day’s pressure more heavily on technology names.
Zhipu dropped 7.86% and MiniMax fell 6.52%. Both declines came amid losses across several other technology, biotech and chip-related shares in the same market session.
Some listed companies saw sharper losses. A biotech stock fell 8.70%, a robotics company lost 8.76%, and another biotech name declined 9.03%. Two semiconductor-related stocks dropped 9.30% and 9.73%, while a hardware company recorded the largest listed loss at 11.23%.
Zhipu and MiniMax were included in the Hang Seng Tech Index on June 8, after listing in January 2026. The session’s declines put the two AI companies among a wider group of index names falling, with hardware, chip, robotics and biotech shares also posting losses.
