Bitcoin Open Interest Falls 5.82%, Leading Five-Asset Declines
Open interest fell across all five assets in the Oct. 22 snapshot. Dogecoin had the group’s most negative funding rate.

Bitcoin (BTC) led a decline in perpetual-futures open interest across five crypto assets Oct. 22, with its 5.82% drop outpacing losses in Ether, Solana, XRP and Dogecoin.
At 7:05 a.m. ET (11:05 UTC), Bitcoin’s mark price was $81,930 and open interest totaled $7.62 billion. Its funding rate was -0.0024% every eight hours, or -2.7% annualized. Accounts were 64.5% long and 35.5% short.
Open interest measures the dollar value of outstanding derivatives contracts. Funding is a recurring transfer between traders holding opposite perpetual-futures positions; a positive rate means long traders pay short traders.
Ether (ETH) had a mark price of $2,402 and $5.53 billion in open interest, down 2.80% over 24 hours. Its funding rate was -0.0001% every eight hours, or -0.1% annualized. Long accounts made up 75.8%, compared with 24.2% short.
Solana (SOL) had a mark price of $104.44 and $885 million in open interest, down 2.67%. Its funding rate was -0.0037% per eight hours, or -4.0% annualized. Accounts were 73.2% long and 26.8% short.
XRP’s mark price was $1.33. Open interest was $422.2 million, down 2.92% over 24 hours. Funding was positive at 0.0001% per eight hours, or 0.1% annualized; accounts were 72.5% long and 27.5% short.
Dogecoin (DOGE) had the most negative funding rate in the group at -0.0062% per eight hours, or -6.8% annualized. Its mark price was $0.0792 and open interest was $221.6 million, down 1.24%. Accounts were 72.8% long and 27.2% short.
Long accounts outnumbered short accounts in all five assets, ranging from 64.5% for Bitcoin to 75.8% for Ether. The latest figures update an earlier five-asset derivatives snapshot.
