Bitcoin Options Expire in Cash at 3 a.m. ET on Dec. 25, 2026

The contracts use a 30-minute settlement price window and do not deliver Bitcoin.

Bitcoin (BTC) options scheduled for Dec. 25, 2026, expire at 3 a.m. ET (08:00 UTC). The contracts settle in cash rather than through delivery of Bitcoin.

Deribit schedules its quarterly options to expire at 08:00 UTC on the final Friday of each quarter. The Dec. 25 date is the December quarterly expiration.

The final settlement price is calculated using a 30-minute time-weighted average price (TWAP) from 07:30 to 08:00 UTC, or 2:30 to 3 a.m. ET.
