Ethereum Staking Adds 1.99 Million Ether (ETH) in Q3 as Gross Yield Falls
Active validators held 43.80 million ETH, or 35.9% of supply, at quarter-end. Average annualized gross yield was 2.63%, down from 2.81% in Q2.

The amount of Ether (ETH) committed to Ethereum's validators rose by 1.99 million on a net basis in Q3 2026, marking a sixth consecutive quarter of inflows as gross staking yield fell.
At quarter-end, active validators held 43.80 million ETH, equal to 35.9% of the network's total supply. The figures show both the scale of the validator pool and its continued growth during the quarter.
Net staking inflows measure the change in ETH committed to validators, not the amount newly purchased. Holders can stake ETH they already own, so the network-wide increase does not show how much came from acquisitions or any one company's treasury.
Staked ETH helps support Ethereum's proof-of-stake validation process. The coins remain part of the network's supply, but a full validator exit and withdrawal must pass through Ethereum's processing steps. The time required varies with the queue.
The annualized gross staking rate was 2.63% in Q3, compared with 2.81% in Q2. Consensus rewards made up 96.3% of the quarter's reported yield.
Together, the figures show rising participation alongside a lower average gross yield. They describe network-wide staking and an average rate, not the balance or return of any individual holder.
