Western Digital Shares Fall 6.3% After Q1 Beat and Strong Outlook
Fiscal 2027 first-quarter revenue climbed 55% to $4.381 billion; the company forecast second-quarter revenue of $5 billion to $5.2 billion.

Western Digital shares fell 6.3% in after-hours trading at 8:54 p.m. ET Thursday (00:54 UTC Friday), reversing an initial gain despite quarterly results and an outlook that topped analyst expectations.
Revenue for fiscal 2027's first quarter reached $4.381 billion, up 55% from a year earlier and above analysts' $4.14 billion estimate. Non-GAAP earnings rose 161% to $4.64 per share, compared with an estimate of $4.11.
For the fiscal second quarter, Western Digital forecast adjusted earnings of $5.60 to $6 per share and revenue of $5 billion to $5.2 billion. Analysts had expected $4.84 per share and $4.57 billion in revenue.
The decline came as storage and AI-related stocks faced broader pressure, amid concern that large capital investments might not pay off in the near term.
