Pseudonymous crypto analyst DonAlt is emphasizing Bitcoin (BTC)’s monthly chart after the asset’s mid-October decline, saying the longer view still looks strong despite a brief drop below $80,000.

BTC fell to $79,732 on Oct. 15 before rebounding toward $85,000, putting it back in positive territory for October. DonAlt said the prior week’s panic amounted to only “the tiniest wick” on the monthly candle and called the chart “excellent still.”

He also described the bounce from what he called “meh support” as notable amid geopolitical turmoil and a broad expectation of a “Black Monday.” DonAlt contrasted weaker short-term views with the monthly chart, which he called “the only chart that really matters” when zooming out.

His central comparison was the scale of the decline: what felt like a sharp weekly setback looked small against the full month’s price action.
