Spot gold hovered around $4,020 an ounce on Oct. 23, near a three-month low, as markets watched for liquidity-driven selling, a risk flagged by Global X ETFs analyst Justin Lin.

Lin said cooler expectations for further Federal Reserve rate hikes could support gold in the short term. He also described a V-shaped rebound as possible despite downside pressure.
