Midnight’s NIGHT token was priced at $0.0393 at 5:36 p.m. ET Friday (21:36 UTC), about 21% below its early-October reference near $0.05. It was up 2.38% over the previous 24 hours.
At that price, roughly 57% of the advance from about $0.025 in late September to $0.05 earlier in October remained. The calculation compares approximate price levels and does not represent the returns of holders who bought at different times.
NIGHT had gained about 100% in one week earlier in October before retreating from that rally. The near-term chart question is whether the token can regain and hold the $0.040-$0.041 range; a brief move above it alone would not confirm a reversal.
Midnight uses NIGHT as its native, unshielded token. Holding it accrues DUST, a nontransferable resource used for transaction fees; NIGHT itself is not spent for network fees. On Oct. 20, Midnight introduced Nightmode, which would use vaults based on multiparty computation to link its shielded pool to public blockchains. Midnight gave no estimate of how Nightmode might affect demand for NIGHT.
