Robinhood shares fell for a second straight session Friday ahead of its Oct. 27 earnings report; its latest results showed crypto revenue down 38% to $100 million year over year.

HOOD closed at $96.58 Thursday, Oct. 22, down 5.25% from Wednesday’s $101.93 close. The shares fell another 1.56% Friday, ending at $95.07 at 4 p.m. EDT (20:00 UTC). Thursday’s decline came on the same day Robinhood announced its Dubai expansion.

Crypto revenue fell 38% from a year earlier to $100 million in the quarter ended June 30. Total net revenue rose 32% to $1.31 billion, and transaction-based revenue increased 44% to $776 million.

That transaction-based total included $156 million in event-contract revenue, $342 million from options and $129 million from equities. Each of those lines generated more revenue than cryptocurrency in the quarter.

August crypto notional volume reached $17.5 billion, up 61% from July but down 38% from August 2025. The total combined $7.4 billion traded on the Robinhood app, down 46% year over year, and $10.1 billion on Bitstamp, down 30%. The August volume figure is a different measure from quarterly crypto revenue.

Robinhood announced Thursday, Oct. 22, that it had authorization from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to introduce its retail investing platform from the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The company plans to launch there in 2027. The authorization covers trading and custody across 10 DFSA-approved asset classes, including equities, crypto, exchange-traded funds and investment tokens.

“The DIFC is one of the world’s most important financial hubs,” Robinhood Chairman and CEO Vlad Tenev said.

Robinhood is scheduled to release third-quarter results after the market closes Tuesday, Oct. 27, and hold an earnings call at 5 p.m. ET (21:00 UTC). The company previously shared its earnings-date announcement.
