Strategy Shares Fall 5% to $145.80 During Broad U.S. Selloff
The Nasdaq Composite fell 2.6% and the S&P 500 dropped 1.2% on Oct. 22. Strategy held 848,517 Bitcoin as of Oct. 18.

Strategy’s Class A shares (NASDAQ: MSTR) fell 5% to $145.80 on Thursday, Oct. 22, down $7.68 from the previous session’s close of $153.48. The decline coincided with losses across major U.S. stock indexes, but those moves do not establish a specific trigger for the stock’s drop.
The Nasdaq Composite fell 2.6% to 26,008.86, while the S&P 500 dropped 1.2% to 7,663.43.
Strategy held 848,517 Bitcoin (BTC) as of Oct. 18. Its aggregate purchase price was $64.02 billion, with an average cost of $75,446 per coin. The company’s Bitcoin treasury and its relationship to MSTR shareholder exposure provide context for the stock, though the market figures do not show that Bitcoin drove the Oct. 22 decline.
For the quarter ended Sept. 30, Strategy put its preliminary digital-asset gain at $20.91 billion and related deferred tax expense at $1.88 billion. Management prepared the estimates; KPMG had not audited or reviewed them.
Strategy’s third-quarter earnings call is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 29, at 5 p.m. ET.
