90-Day Altcoin Season Index Sits at 51, Below Its 75-Point Threshold
The gauge compares the top 50 coins with Bitcoin over 90 days. A separate top-100 measure uses a different basket and exclusions.

A 90-day altcoin-season gauge stood at 51 on Oct. 23, below the 75-point level for altcoin season, as its top-50 basket measured performance against Bitcoin (BTC).
The gauge reaches altcoin-season territory when at least 75% of the 50 tracked coins outperform BTC during the 90-day period. The 51 reading is below that threshold.
A separate measure tracks eligible assets among the top 100 and excludes stablecoins, wrapped tokens and asset-backed tokens. It also uses a 90-day comparison, defining altcoin season as 75% or more outperforming Bitcoin and Bitcoin season as 25% or less. The indexes are not directly interchangeable because they track different asset baskets and update on different schedules. Earlier coverage has examined how different asset baskets and update schedules can produce different readings.
