Ethereum Queue Tops 1.3 Million Ether (ETH) as Lido Shows 2.22% APR
New euro-area household deposits with agreed maturities of up to a year averaged 2.13% in August; the 2.442% €STR is a wholesale bank rate, not a U.S. savings yield.

Ethereum’s validator entry queue held 1,368,318 Ether (ETH) in an Oct. 23 snapshot, with an estimated wait of about 24 days, while Lido’s displayed annual percentage rate (APR) was 2.22% when checked.
The queue counts ETH awaiting activation as validators. It does not count distinct people, explain whether one person is behind multiple deposits or show why holders are staking. The snapshot adds another point to earlier coverage of Ethereum’s staking queue.
Lido’s APR is a displayed rate for its staking service, not a rate for all Ethereum staking. It averages rewards over a rolling seven-day period, so it can change; it also does not promise that stakers will receive that rate for a full year.
In August 2026, the average rate on new euro-area household deposits with an agreed maturity of no more than one year was 2.13%. The euro short-term rate (€STR), a wholesale overnight borrowing benchmark for euro-area banks, was 2.442% for Oct. 22. It is not a household savings offer, and neither figure measures U.S. bank rates. The deposit average and €STR describe different products from staking rewards.
At fixed rates and with simple annual accrual before costs and taxes or compounding, €10,000 would generate €220 at an approximate 2.2% Lido APR, €213 at the deposit average and €244.20 if €STR applied for a full year. The last figure is an arithmetic illustration using a wholesale benchmark, not a household offer.
Staking rewards accrue in ETH, so their euro value changes with the token’s price. In another simplified example using the same assumptions, a 2.2% reward rate alongside a 5% fall in ETH’s euro price would leave a €10,000 position worth about €9,709 after a year.
BitMine said it had 5,067,309 ETH staked as of Oct. 18, and has described a strategy of accumulating ETH toward 5% of the supply. Interactive Brokers announced Oct. 13 that eligible Interactive Brokers LLC clients could stake Ethereum through its platform.
“The marginal staker is no longer necessarily there for the return,” said Fabian Dori, chief investment officer at Sygnum.
