Bitcoin (BTC) closed a third straight losing week at $80,048 on Oct. 25, its first such streak since May and a 7.4% drop from the start of the slide.
The run began with BTC at $86,490 on Oct. 5. It finished that week at $83,679, then closed at $82,002 for Oct. 12-18 and $80,048 for Oct. 19-25. The 7.4% decline compares the opening price on Oct. 5 with the closing price on Oct. 25.
May was the previous time Bitcoin recorded three weekly declines in a row. That streak continued for a fourth week, when BTC moved from an opening price of $73,568 to a close of $63,316, a drop of about 13.9%.
During the first week of the current decline, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $681 million in net outflows from Oct. 5-9. Those withdrawals ended three consecutive weeks of net inflows for the funds.
