On-chain analyst 余烬 linked a $70.25 million Ether (ETH) long on Hyperliquid to a wallet associated with last year’s theft of about $40 million from UXLINK.

The position covered 30,300 ETH opened at $2,134 each. It showed $5.62 million in unrealized gains at 10:36 p.m. ET Monday, Oct. 26 (02:36 UTC Tuesday, Oct. 27).

余烬 said the connection rested on a funding trail. About a month earlier, the address that funded the long and an address linked to the UXLINK theft sent their remaining ETH for gas fees to the same wallet on the same day.

The analyst also said the trader gathered 11.54 million USDC from multiple sources in early August before trading ETH on Hyperliquid. The trader opened six positions, five of which were profitable, for total gains of $5.71 million.
