Bitcoin (BTC) Realized Cap Climbs While Trading Volume Remains Muted

Realized cap values each coin at the price of its last on-chain move, while trading activity has not picked up alongside the rise.

Bitcoin (BTC) realized cap is rising while trading volume remains subdued, leaving the on-chain measure without a corresponding pickup in market activity. The divergence shows that a change in the value assigned to coins by their last on-chain move has not come with stronger trading.

Realized cap totals Bitcoin's value using the price recorded when each coin last moved. That differs from valuing the entire supply at current prices: changes in realized cap track the prices attached to coins in their last on-chain transactions.

A sustained rise would give the on-chain trend more weight, but the increase alone does not show whether it will last. Trading activity remains a separate signal, and it has not strengthened alongside the rise.
