Shiba Inu (SHIB) futures open interest appeared at $39.50 million and $60.85 million in two Oct. 28 snapshots, but different timestamps and venue coverage leave the readings unsuitable for a direct comparison.

The earlier snapshot, at 8:26 a.m. ET (12:26 UTC), covered 10 perpetual contracts across nine exchanges. Its history summary excluded MEXC. The later snapshot, at 1 p.m. ET (17:00 UTC), covered seven exchanges.

Because the snapshots differ in both timing and exchange coverage, they do not establish that open interest across the broader market moved from one figure to the other.

Open interest counts futures contracts that remain open. Trading volume counts contracts traded over a period. Neither measure alone shows whether traders hold net long or net short positions.
