Solana announced a new high above $5 billion for its real-world asset (RWA) ecosystem as the network’s distributed assets reached $5.19 billion on Oct. 29, up 20.75% in 30 days.

The distributed-assets reading was $5,186,978,924. The network listing included 3,504 RWA assets, but that count was not limited to distributed assets.

Distributed assets are tokens that can move off an issuer’s platform and pass between wallets, although some products impose eligibility restrictions. Represented assets stay within the issuing platform and cannot be transferred from wallet to wallet. Their value was $125,856,305.

Adding the two categories yields $5,312,835,229, or about $5.31 billion. Stablecoins are counted separately. These classifications describe transferability; they do not mean every distributed asset is free of access restrictions.

Over the 30 days through Oct. 29, token transfers totaled $11.82 billion, up 44.64%. The measure counts the dollar value moved through token transfers and leaves out mints and burns. It tracks activity rather than net capital entering the network, so the transfer total cannot be treated as new assets added to Solana.

Asset value and transfer volume capture different things. The first reflects the value assigned to the distributed asset base, while the second accumulates token movement over a month. A higher transfer total does not show that the same amount in new assets entered the network.

The distributed total was $4.39 billion in an earlier Solana RWA snapshot on Oct. 16. That snapshot listed 3,457 RWA assets and $9.09 billion in 30-day transfer volume, which was up 47.28% from its preceding 30-day window.

Over the 12 months ending Aug. 18, Solana accounted for 32% of onchain RWA spot trading volume and 47% of onchain RWA spot trades by count. Its share of RWA market capitalization was 12%. Perpetuals were excluded from the activity figures, which measure trading rather than the value of assets on the network.
