U.S. stocks traded lower Thursday afternoon as Alphabet and other technology shares declined after disappointing quarterly earnings.

At 1:01 p.m. ET (17:01 UTC), the Nasdaq Composite was down 1.2%. The S&P 500 fell 0.3% at the same time.
