Nikkei 225 Falls 2.2% to 62,927.41 Points During Trading

Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 2.2% to 62,927.41 points during trading from its 64,344.37-point open, putting the benchmark below its Oct. 15 intraday level during a 3% selloff.

The reading was 1,416.96 points below the open. It also fell below 65,711.85, the level reached during the Nikkei’s Oct. 15 intraday decline, which took the index below 66,000 points.
