France’s preliminary inflation reading for October showed annual and monthly price growth above their respective consensus estimates, indicating a stronger increase than expected on both measures.
The annual rate was 3.4%, compared with 3.1% in September and a 3.2% consensus forecast. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.4%, reversing September’s 0.3% decline and topping the 0.2% estimate.
