U.S. Chip and Crypto Stocks Fall as Intel Drops 25% Premarket
AMD fell 6.80%, and Coinbase and Circle each lost 4.66%; declines also hit storage and optical communications stocks.

U.S. semiconductor, storage, optical communications and crypto-linked stocks fell in Friday premarket trading, with Intel down 25.49%, extending losses across risk-sensitive U.S. equities before the opening bell.
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) fell 6.80%, while Nvidia (NVDA) declined 2.88%. Storage stocks also dropped: STX fell 5.35%, WDC 5.94%, SNDK 4.27% and MU 4.17%. Intel’s decline came amid a fourth-quarter outlook far below expectations, an explosion at an Israeli factory, weak PC demand and constrained AI chip supply.
Crypto-linked shares also fell. MSTR was down 5.02%, Coinbase (COIN) and Circle (CRCL) each lost 4.66%, BitMine (BMNR) declined 5.15%, and SharpLink (SBET) fell 5.95%.
Optical communications shares extended the decline. FOTO fell 6.53%, MRVL 5.33%, AAOI 7.97%, LITE 6.18%, COHR 7.66%, CIEN 4.68%, FN 4.64% and AXTI 5.39%. The moves spanned semiconductor, storage, optical communications and crypto-related names ahead of regular U.S. trading. These were premarket changes, not closing-price losses.
