[ETH options daily] Open interest falls to $5.32 billion; $2,600 calls lead volume
Ethereum options open interest fell 15.62% to $5.32 billion. Calls held 63.67% of outstanding positions, while Bybit's $2,600 calls expiring November 1 led daily volume.

Ethereum options open interest fell 15.62% to $5.32 billion. Calls dominated outstanding positions, while their smaller lead in daily trading showed a less pronounced call bias in turnover.
Ethereum options positioning remained weighted toward calls. Daily trading also favored calls, although puts accounted for a larger share of volume than of open interest.
As of October 30, 2026, total Ethereum options open interest stood at $5.32 billion, down from $6.31 billion in the previous snapshot. Options trading volume totaled approximately $2.43 billion.
Calls accounted for 63.67% of open interest and puts for 36.33%. In 24-hour trading volume, calls represented 56.39% and puts 43.61%.
The call share of open interest indicated a stronger call bias in accumulated positions than in daily activity. Calls also led turnover, but the larger put share in trading pointed to a more balanced mix of activity.

[Editor's note] Options are derivatives used to take leveraged exposure to price movements or hedge existing positions. Calls give holders the right to buy an underlying asset at a specified price, while puts give holders the right to sell. Open interest measures outstanding contracts and indicates the accumulated size of positions.
Call and put shares, together with changes in open interest and volume, help distinguish accumulated positioning from daily trading activity. These measures alone do not establish the direction of future prices or whether individual trades represent directional bets or hedges.
