Spot silver fell 5% during Friday trading to $49.49 an ounce, while spot gold dropped 2.29% to $3,930 an ounce, extending declines across the two precious metals.

At those quoted levels, silver was 51 cents below $50 an ounce, and gold was $70 below $4,000. Both prices sat beneath the round-number thresholds immediately above their reported levels as the declines widened.

The two spot prices were quoted in U.S. dollars per ounce, and both changes were intraday moves Friday. Silver's reported decline was 5%, while gold's was 2.29%. The separate percentage figures describe losses in each metal during the session.

Together, the quotes show simultaneous declines in spot silver and gold. Silver's price stood at $49.49 per ounce after its 5% fall, while gold reached $3,930 per ounce after dropping 2.29%. Both metals were lower as precious-metals losses continued to widen during Friday's trading session.
