Trader Ansem said he may leave a short-term Bitcoin (BTC) trade before its stop-loss is reached when price remains near his entry and the expected move does not appear, making elapsed time part of his risk assessment.

Ansem said he enters short-term positions expecting the market to move in a particular direction quickly. If Bitcoin stays near his entry for an extended period, he reassesses whether the original reasoning for the trade still holds.

Ansem said short-term trading can reveal sooner whether a position is working. He may therefore exit before reaching his stop-loss when the anticipated price movement fails to develop. He considers both price and time when deciding whether to stay in a trade.
