70% of Past-Year XRP Escrow Releases Returned to Escrow

Of the 12 billion XRP released from escrow between November 2025 and October 2026, 8.4 billion XRP was placed into escrow again. That is 70% of the period’s gross releases.

The 3.6 billion XRP not returned to escrow represents the amount left outside escrow in the tally. It does not establish how much was sold.

Ripple moved 55 billion XRP into escrow in 2017, equal to 55% of the asset’s 100 billion maximum supply. The program set monthly releases of up to 1 billion XRP over 55 months, with unused tokens to be placed into new escrows.

An escrow’s scheduled time does not itself move its funds. After the FinishAfter time passes, an account must submit an EscrowFinish transaction to complete it.
