Bitcoin Hits $76,400 as Crypto Liquidations Top $1.6 Billion
The Fear & Greed Index fell to 30, its lowest reading since mid-August, while Ether slipped below $2,200.

Bitcoin (BTC) touched $76,400 during a broad crypto selloff as liquidations exceeded $1.6 billion in 24 hours and market sentiment reached its lowest level since mid-August.
The liquidation total covered positions across crypto assets, not only Bitcoin. BTC fell about 4% to 5% over the same 24-hour window. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index dropped 21 points in a day, from 51 to 30. That was its weakest reading since mid-August. A score below 25 marks extreme fear, leaving 30 above that threshold.
Ether (ETH) fell below $2,200 as most major digital assets declined. Performance was mixed elsewhere: some tokens gained 2% to 5%, while losses among some tokens ranged from 8% to 9%. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) was among the gainers, rising 2%.
The pullback combined widespread price weakness with a quick deterioration in sentiment, though the index did not enter its extreme-fear category. The declines took place during Halloween week.
