Vertiv Shares Rise 25% in Three Sessions After Anthropic IPO Filing
Vertiv's third-quarter sales rose 61% year over year as the data-center equipment maker raised its 2026 sales-guidance midpoint to $14.65 billion.

Vertiv Holdings Co. shares rose 25% from the Oct. 23 close to the Oct. 28 close, covering the three trading sessions after Anthropic filed for a proposed initial public offering on Monday, Oct. 26. The comparison ends on the same day Vertiv released its third-quarter results. The timing does not establish that Anthropic's filing caused the gain. Vertiv's earnings were another event during the period, and other company or market news may also have affected prices.
Among the stocks in the comparison, Vertiv had the largest advance. Nvidia (NVDA) gained 2.1%, CoreWeave (CRWV) rose 17.9%, Oracle (ORCL) gained 14.6%, Micron Technology (MU) added 11.5% and Broadcom (AVGO) increased 9.4%. Each return compares the closing price at 4 p.m. ET (20:00 UTC) on Oct. 23 with the close on Oct. 28.
Vertiv's third-quarter 2026 net sales reached $4.313 billion, up 61% from a year earlier. Organic orders grew more than 100%. The company raised its 2026 net-sales guidance by $650 million, bringing the midpoint to $14.65 billion. Vertiv sells power and cooling systems used in data centers. CEO Giordano Albertazzi said, “We are in the middle of the largest infrastructure buildout and it's accelerating.”
Anthropic's second-quarter 2026 revenue reached $11.555 billion, compared with $4.731 billion in the first quarter. The company had $974 million in second-quarter operating income, but recorded a $693 million operating loss for the first half. Its compute and infrastructure expense rose to $5.558 billion in the second quarter from $3.387 billion in the first. Anthropic typically procures computing capacity 12 to 18 months before it becomes available.
Expected future fixed or minimum guaranteed commitments totaled $265.6 billion as of June 30, with terms of one to 20 years. The filing does not identify Vertiv as an Anthropic supplier. The share-price comparison also does not show that Anthropic placed orders with Vertiv or any of the other companies whose shares rose.
Anthropic plans to list Class A shares on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. As of the filing, the company had not set the number of shares or a price range, and the registration statement was not yet effective.
