An X account tracking Shiba Inu (SHIB) posted a reading of 1,696,223 Ethereum addresses holding the token on Friday, Oct. 30, putting the reported tally 3,777 addresses below 1.7 million.
The account, @Etherscan_SHIB, also posted a year-to-date increase of 147,593 addresses and a daily increase of 210 on Friday. These figures describe addresses, not SHIB token amounts.
A token-holder count tracks blockchain addresses that hold a token. It does not show how many individual people those addresses represent or how much SHIB each address holds. The count also does not explain why it changed.
The posted increase alone does not establish broader use of the Shiba Inu ecosystem or a change in SHIB demand.
