Analysts Tie Broadcom Upside to IPOs, Upgrade Rivian, Downgrade Moderna
D.A. Davidson sees potential Broadcom upside if Anthropic and OpenAI pursue IPOs and raise capital. Jefferies raised Rivian to Buy, while William Blair cut Moderna to Market Perform.

Analysts offered sharply different views on three major U.S. stocks this week, with D.A. Davidson tying conditional Broadcom upside to IPO plans, Jefferies upgrading Rivian and William Blair downgrading Moderna.
D.A. Davidson said Broadcom (AVGO) could have significant upside if Anthropic and OpenAI pursue IPOs and raise capital. The firm argued that Broadcom’s valuation reflects a low likelihood of those deals.
Jefferies moved Rivian (RIVN) to a Buy rating, pointing to what it viewed as an attractive entry point, automotive gross margins moving closer to positive territory and plans to scale the R2 model.
William Blair downgraded Moderna (MRNA) to Market Perform after the stock’s sharp gains. The firm cited valuation concerns and clinical and biological risks in developing the cancer treatment for additional tumors.
Abbott (ABT) also appeared among the week’s top picks.
