Analysts Favor ExxonMobil, Chevron and Midstream Oil Stocks
Their picks also included Chord Energy, described as a higher-risk option with projected free cash flow of $1.13 billion to $1.39 billion.

Long Player, Dhierin Bechai and Daniel Jones included ExxonMobil, Chevron, Enterprise Products Partners and Western Midstream among their oil-stock picks in an Oct. 31 discussion. Chord Energy was presented as a higher-risk option with a lower valuation and projected free cash flow of $1.13 billion to $1.39 billion.
ExxonMobil management expects earnings to grow by $25 billion and cash flow by $35 billion between 2024 and 2030. Management also expects the company’s low-carbon businesses to generate $13 billion in earnings by 2040.
Chord Energy’s EV/EBITDA multiple was 2.8 times, compared with an industry range of four to six times. At $60 a barrel, Chord could still generate positive free cash flow. Selling its Marcellus position is intended to reduce leverage and focus the company on core assets.
