Bitcoin Shows Larger 30-Minute Moves After Jobs, Core CPI Releases
A study of January 2025 through September 2026 found employment reports were followed by moves about twice the typical size, while core CPI releases registered 1.8 times typical.

Bitcoin’s short-term price swings were larger around U.S. jobs and core inflation releases than around Federal Reserve rate decisions in a study covering January 2025 through September 2026.
Employment reports were followed by a median absolute Bitcoin move in the next 30 minutes that measured about twice the typical level. The result for core Consumer Price Index (CPI) releases was 1.8 times typical, while moves around Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) decisions stayed close to baseline.
The comparison used the median absolute price change, which measures the size of a move without regard to direction. An upward change and a downward change of the same size count equally. The study compared event windows with typical non-event periods, so its findings describe historical price movement and do not establish that an announcement caused a move.
